Revamp Restyle Reveal: My TV Room!

It's here! It's REVEAL DAY!

If you're not a regular reader, and have come my way from my partner in Revamp Restyle Reveal shenanigans, the lovely Lisa Dawson, then welcome! I'm Bianca, and for the second season of Revamp Restyle Reveal, I took on my TV room. Why? Quite simply I was sick of the colour and was starting to find it a bit dreary, and wanted to go light and bright, while making much better use of the floor space, which we most definitely were not before.

The cables on the neon looked awful as did the cables hanging down from the TV on the angled wall, and it just looked messy and wrong.

You can have a bit more of a read about that and see my moodboard here. And here's a little reminder of what the room looked like just four weeks ago...

And here's what it looks like now!

It's light and airy, but still feels welcoming and cosy thanks to not only the lighter wall colour which is a warm off-white (Marbles from Earthborn), but textured patterned wallpaper (Capas from Harlequin), a lovely Berber style rug and Collins sofa, both from Maisons du Monde, teamed with velvet cushions from Cotswold Company. The huge Catherine mirror above the sofa (also from Cotswold Company) throws even more light around the room, making it the happy space I was craving, and I can already see that we're all wanting to use the room more. Result!

It's a long narrow room, and the layout before basically cut the room in half. It works so much better now, with the 55" Sony TV from ao.com, at one end, and the sofa at the other. In fact, it feels twice the size now that we're actually using the space properly.

This will be a hard-working, multi-tasking room, that will be used for hanging out and watching TV, reading and listening to music, playing games, and I'll also use it as my office when I'm writing, as I tend to write on my laptop more and more these days, and I'm much more happy hanging out on a sofa than I am at a desk.

We have some Sony wireless headphones that Baxter is desperate to get his hands on, a Roxi Electric Jukebox, which is amazing and includes karaoke, worldwide radio, therapeutic audio (really love the idea of that for me!), music trivia game AND unlimited music for a year! Pretty impressive for such a small set-up, and needless to say, Baxter is also very excited to have a play with it this weekend! There's a Google Home Mini hiding there too, which has already done a great job of keeping me company on my many recent painting marathons. It's so cool to be able control the volume by voice when you're hands are covered in paint!

I'm super excited to have an Audio Technica turntable, and we've started to dust-off some of the five huge boxes of vinyl that have been living in the cellar for ten years. I've not figured out where to keep it all just yet, but it's on the list!

Just outside the room we have a Brother Business Smart Series printer and label printer, placed so that I can use them from both the laptop and the desktop computers. It's becoming really important to have a reliable printer with Edie's homework, and this one is particularly great for her photography, art and graphics homework as it can print both A4, and A3.

Moving back into the room, I pimped the existing sideboards (two side by side Besta cupboards from that Swedish Superstore!), by adding decorative moulding to echo the wall moulding, and painting it with Secret Room by Earthborn. I'm really happy with the result, and love the way it ties in with the green undertones of the wallpaper too.

A few pieces from Sainsbury's Home will keep me from having to run up and down the stairs for supplies whilst I'm working.

Flanking the TV on the sideboard are the stunning large Liquid lamps from David Hunt Lighting. They really are such a showstopper. The shades come separately, so you can choose from a lovely range of colours.

I love that you're no longer greeted with a low-slung TV and cables when you walk into the room, but rather a serene sight of a fiddle-leaf-fig in a new galvanised iron pot, and the gorgeous Colosseum radiators from soak.com. They make such a massive difference, and I love the optional extra legs on these, such a lovely detail.

Another great addition to the room is this Dyson air purifier and fan, as it's super hot in this loft room in the summer months, and it actually cools the room down within a minute.

I hope you like the new look in this room, and have enjoyed this season of Revamp Restyle Reveal as much as we've enjoyed sharing it all with you.

Here's a little video tour of my room!

Now please hop over and check out the gorgeous Kat from Rock n Roll Bride's room. She's a kindred spirit and took on her kitchen like I did last season! Then she'll point you in the direction of the next person on the hop, and there's also a list of links at the bottom of this post, so you don't miss any of the fabulous transformations.

A massive thanks to all the bloggers for taking part, and to our sponsors for supporting us! This post is in collaboration with...
