Be More: The Hoxton Paris
To say I was excited to be invited on a press trip to Paris with Made.com last week, to attend the Paris Design Week launch party at Ground Zero, where Made, who sponsored the Le Off exhibition (a launchpad for upcoming design talent) had a TalentLAB stand, is an understatement.
But when I found out we were to stay at The Hoxton, my excitement reached giddy levels. Nestled in a narrow street in the second arrondissement, The Hoxton Paris, is in a ridiculously beautiful 18th century building, with 172 rooms spread over four floors, with a glass encased lobby that surrounds one of two impressive courtyards. Let's just say it was love at first sight upon checking out their Instagram feed prior to arriving - I mean what kind of interiors obsessive would I be if I didn't do a bit of pre-arrival snooping? Of course I'd seen The Hoxton Hotels in London, but not the Paris edition...

Breathtakingly beautiful just about does it, and from the minute you walk in, it's a visual feast, and I loved every single bit. Around every corner is another wow moment, and just when I thought I couldn't love it more, I opened the door to my room. Yes, I did say quietly to myself 'Well, this will do nicely!" as I set about examining every detail.
After six weeks of juggling the school summer holidays and work, this trip could not have come at a better time, and to be honest, I wanted to jump right into bed for a snooze, but there was exploring to be done, food to be eaten and cocktails to be boomeranged. Obvs. Tough job, but someone had to do it.

From the fringed velvet sofas in the lobby, the distressed walls and stunning lighting in the Rivié restaurant, the ochre velvet cushions on the incredible seats in one of the many hang-out areas around the front courtyard, and everything in between, The Hoxton Paris is Insta-perfect.
The rooms are moody and elegant with chevron oak flooring, leather headboards, über cool lighting, and cleverly designed steel and fluted opaque glass enclosures to house the bathrooms - I defy you to go there and not want to bring at least a little Hoxton Paris to your home.
I've written before about my ongoing attempts to make my home more boutique hotel, and I felt compelled to write this post, because there's just oodles of inspiration to be had. I've compiled some tres Hoxton Paris pieces - some inspired-by, and some are the actual products in the hotel. I'll have one of each thanks!
THE FURNITURE...
Mix it up! Modern and Mid-Century collide with a colour palette of neutrals mixed with jewel-tones. A splash of pattern, with plenty of sumptuous velvet and fringing, mixed metals and natural woods to ground it. It just works.

THE BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS...

Sultry, calm and cosy, with an unexpected signature grid pattern on the bedding, and a spot of pattern on the bathroom floor tiles. Unlacquered copper brassware, simple white sanitary ware and even more cool lighting, et voila - instant hotel chic! Each room is slightly varies, with a different colour palette, but they're very much of the same overall design. And boy is it good.
