Micro-Trend: She Sells Sea Shells

Have you noticed it too? Seashell shaped homewares are popping up, here there and everywhere, and I’m not mad about it.
Ironically, I recently read that Emily Henderson had been quoted saying that the shell trend was over. ‘What shell trend’ I asked myself back then, but as we know the UK and US are not aligned in the trend department, and some trends are very country specific, which is kind of funny in this day and age with all the technology we have available, which you would think would mean trends are just across the board global. But then you have seasons, geography and ingrained cultural tastes to consider, so perhaps it’s not that surprising, but that’s a whole other conversation, and one my brain isn’t prepared to think more deeply about right now, because quite frankly, I just strained my brain with the above.
In fact, right now, I’m focussing on getting through each day with a sense of humour in tact, and trying to make sure my kids don’t spend their entire days starting at various screens, which I’m sure any parents reading this will agree is no mean feat.
So back to those sea shells… a bit of welcome fun and whimsy that you can easily bring into your home by way of a super affordable dish or vase, or invest in a forever piece (hello stunning Gubi lamp).
Regardless of whether the shell trend is well and truly done and dusted in other corners of the world, I declare it a welcome micro-trend here in the UK, and here are my favourite pieces…
