Out of This World with TEMPUR®
[Ad: Paid Partnership with TEMPUR®]
Many of you know I have a thing for Boutique Hotel stye bedrooms. And if you didn’t know that, you do now!
You know the drill, perfect lighting including lamps a plenty, for atmosphere and reading, super high-quality bed linen, a cushion or three, a luxurious throw to finish off the bed dressing, and snooze inducing pillow spray. I could go on.
But let’s face it: all this does not amount to a perfect night’s sleep if the foundations aren’t right. And by foundations, I of course mean your mattress and pillows.
Did you know that the ‘viscoelastic’ material used by TEMPUR® was originally developed by NASA, to cushion astronauts during lift-off absorbing G-force pressure?
Nope, me neither, but that’s a very impressive fact, don’t you think?
The formula of the mattress material is a closely guarded secret that less than ten people in the world know. And they all work for TEMPUR® of course. Other brands have been trying to replicate it for years and years unsuccessfully, so while there are other memory foams, there is only one TEMPUR®.
After its success with NASA, scientists realised that the materials pressure relieving properties provided incredible comfort and support and went on to spend years perfecting it into what eventually became TEMPUR®, and it’s now at the heart of every one of their mattress and pillows.
When I first received my Original ‘Classic Comfort’ TEMPUR® pillow, I had a quick try immediately, because A, I’m impatient, and B, first impressions count! I’m also ‘that’ person, that finds it hard to shift from my first impression, so luckily my first impression was ‘I think I’m going to like this. A lot.’
A traditional shaped pillow, it’s quite weighty in a good way. It feels like semi-firm marshmallow in that your head, neck and shoulders sink into it slowly to find their natural comfort zone. I dare say, it’s the perfect medium density, being neither too hard nor too soft, although if that’s what you prefer, TEMPUR® have you covered!
The support has meant that I’ve noticed that I’m tossing and turning far less than usual, as it kind of comfortably cradles your head and neck so you’re less inclined to move about so much. In turn, it’s helping me to train myself to sleep on my side more than my front, something I’d really like to achieve, if not for the sake of my neck and back, but for my face!
Each of the four TEMPUR® mattress designs are available in three different depths, and an astounding ten different sizes. I really thought that was worth pointing out, because sometimes you need something non-standard and again, they have you covered.
Now as I continue to enjoy my new pillow, I need to make sure that no one else in the house gets any ideas about giving it a try, because I know they will love it as much as I do and attempt to commandeer it. Both Ed and Edie have shown more than a passing interest, so I’m on high pillow theft alert!
So, don’t forget that if you want a truly out of this world sleep, make sure your foundations are top notch too, not just the pretty bits.
This post is in collaboration with TEMPUR®, but as always, all thoughts are my own.
