Currently Coveting: Soho Home

It’s not so much ‘currently’ coveting as ‘constantly’ coveting with Soho Home. They just get it SO right. God damn it.

It’s the dreaded big summer school break here in the UK, so I took Baxter for a Chelsea adventure last week, under the guise of weird and wonderful ice cream and goggley-eyed cakes (which I did deliver on), but my ulterior motive was finally having a good mooch around the Soho Home mothership on the Kings Road. I don’t often get over that way, but I have to say it was worth the journey as it’s such a huge beautiful space and it definitely did not disappoint. Even Baxter (10), got into it and had a few things to say….

The entrance of the Soho Home store on the Kings Road in Chelsea London, with a grand staircase and huge pink Murano inspired chandelier.

Baxter: ‘Is this it? I want to live here!’ You and me both kiddo…

It’s alllll about extreme marble and heavy texture. I’ve been saying for years, if you’re considering marble, absolutely FORGET safe Cararra.

Exhibit B.

I was really taken with this cabinetry colour. And yes, the marble too, obvs.

Astier de Villatte vibes

Athena Calderone vibes. WANT.

Baxter: ‘This would be my room’. What can I say, the kids got great taste

Always serving up great bed styling inspo, even if I’m not a fan of the karate-chop

Baxter: ‘Those bowls would be good for Ramen’ You can take the kid out of Stoke Newington…

On his absolute best behaviour despite the sugar coursing through his veins

Since we’re playing house, this would be my bed, FYI

From the Soho House Paris collection if my geeky interiors memory serves me correctly

There’s currently a fab Lucy Mahon exhibition which we spotted on the way out. Really fell for this piece

And this one

There’s nothing Soho Home don’t know about great lighting

See?

We’ll be back. Well I will be, perhaps on my own next time so I’m not in and out in under ten minutes

Soho Home of course available online too. As this was a successful visit with a small boy in tow, I’m now thinking I might brave Liberty with him next week!
